Lancers! With the brand new updates for Storm Lancers on the Nintendo Switch™ 2 console, we're introducing a brand new way to play with GameShare.
What is GameShare?
GameShare is a new feature for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 that lets you share compatible games to anyone with a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch console. The receiving console does not need to own the game to join a GameShare
Games can be shared Locally or online with GameChat.
What is GameChat?
GameChat is a new feature for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 that lets you open up a group of 12 people to connect and chat while playing games.
With GameChat you can share your screen and talk together with video calling if you connect a compatible USB-C® camera.
GameShare and GameChat is included with any Nintendo Switch™ Online membership.
Until March, 31, 2026, GameShare and GameChat can be used without a Nintendo Switch™ Online membership.
Before Using GameShare
Before you start a GameShare session make sure to follow these steps!
- A Nintendo Switch™ 2 console is required to host a GameShare session. You can join another player’s session from a Nintendo Switch 2 console (local wireless or over the internet) or from a Nintendo Switch console (local wireless only).
- All participating consoles must have the latest system update installed in order to use GameShare.
How to Start a GameShare Session (Local)
- Open the Storm Lancers game on a Nintendo Switch™ 2 console
- From the Menu, select Co-op and then scroll to the Game Share options (Local)
- This will open up a GameShare session
- Another Nintendo Switch™ console with Gameshare enabled can select the Gameshare option from the Home screen.
- Start your journey through Cryptica together!
Join a GameShare Session (Local)
- Select the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu.
- Select Join GameShare.
- Select A Local User.
- Select the user whose GameShare session you want to join.
- The console will search for nearby sessions you can join. Once you’ve found the session you want, select Join GameShare.
- After all participating members have joined, the host will start the session.
Tip: Nintendo Switch™ consoles will benefit from the added performance improvements of the Nintendo Switch™ 2 using GameShare.
How to Start a GameShare Session (Online)
- Open the Storm Lancers game on a Nintendo Switch™ 2 console.
- From the Menu, select Co-op and then scroll to the GameShare options (Online).
- This will prompt you to start a GameChat session if are not already in one.
- Once you are in a GameChat session, select the Co-op (Online) option again, this will open up a GameShare session.
- Select the profile from your GameChat session to add the GameShare session. They must accept the invitation.

Join a GameShare session (Online)
- Start or join a GameChat session.
- Once the host invites you, press the C Button to open the GameChat menu.
- On the right, select View GameShare Invitations.
- You can also view available GameShare sessions by selecting the GameShare icon on the HOME Menu, then selecting A User in a GameChat Session.
Tips for the Best Remote Co‑op Experience
Gameplay guidelines specific to Storm Lancers:
- The game features permanent upgrades and a variety of weapons, so talk about who is focusing on crowd control vs. single‑target damage to complement each other.
- When reviving each other, remember that revives cost part of your health, so communicate before committing.
- Consider having the more experienced player host to keep the frame rate and pacing as smooth as possible.
